Felipe Alonso-Atienza

Telecommunication Engineering in 2003 (B.Sc.,
M.Sc.), and Doctor of Engineering in
Telecommunications in 2008 from Carlos III University
of Madrid. In 2007 he joined the Department of Signal Theory and
Communications, Rey
Juan Carlos University, where he currently
serves as Associate Professor. He has been a visiting
researcher at the Institute for Cardiovascular
Research, State University of New York, Syracuse, NY,
USA (today the Center
for
Arrhythmia Research).
He has co-authored more than 35 journal and conference papers.
He is co-inventor of a patent,
and has worked in several public and private funding
projects. Currently, he is the IP of the 3-years public funding
project INVERSA (TEC2013-46067-R).
His current research interests lie in the areas of
statistical signal processing, machine learning, and
computer simulation and modelling, applied to cardiac
electrophysiology. From december 2010
to december 2012 he
was the director of the Master
Course in ICT for Biomedical Engineering, at Rey
Juan Carlos University. He is a lecturer of the new master
course in data science, at Rey Juan Carlos
University (first master course in Spain teaching with
Apache Spark) .
